Partnerships

Certain programs and services offered through Kayas College are the result of partnerships with external training institutions. These partners offer valuable programming complementary to Kayas’ independent offerings, which would otherwise be inaccessible without the technological and physical infrastructure that Kayas provides on-reserve.

Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) – The Kayas campuses are well set to act as satellite locations for distance delivery of NAIT courses. The vast library of certificates and diplomas available through NAIT include offerings highly relevant to community members and employees of the nation’s departments. Several full and part-time Kayas staff members are certified to deliver certain NAIT courses.

Northern Lakes College (NLC) – Serving similar regions of Northern Alberta, Kayas and Northern Lakes work together to deliver programming regarding region-specific employment. Graduates of Kayas’ academic programming are often in good-standing to pursue post-secondary programs through Northern Lakes nearby campus in Fort Vermillion.

  • Forest Operations Metrics and Management

Microsoft Training Center – Community members can pursue training in Microsoft Office through independent-based learning software accessible via Kayas’ campuses. Kayas is also a certified Microsoft testing center, meaning students that complete the training program can achieve official certification without having to travel to larger centers.

  • Jasperactive interactive Microsoft Office training
  • Certiport official Microsoft testing center

Little Red River Cree Nation – Kayas College works with the housing department of LRRCN in the training of construction trades apprentices, which simultaneously provides community members with employment opportunities and accessible labour for the construction and maintenance of community infrastructure.
